    Description

    This is an early blackglass rum or small cylinder liquor bottle from the 1760s or 1770s Colonial Period.....It was dug in New Orleans from a well or privy pit....no embossing....Free blown....deep kickup sunken base....crude applied double ring collar...dark olive green blackglass...8 1/4"tall x 2 3/4"round....Good condition with only one shallow rough spot on top inside edge of lip; no other damage. A dug bottle with haze. Water washed, so left pretty much just as it came out of the ground. ....
