    Description

Up for your consideration is a super nice and damage free Antique black glass ale bottle. This early 1800's, civil war era, blown in the mold bottle has a tooled applied crude square slightly tapered top collar mouth with a wide drippy lower flared band. It also has a crude very deep kickup base with a fired pontil impression ( see pictures). This outstanding 8 in. tall specimen is in excellent original shape with no issues or concerns : no cracks, nicks,or dings anywhere as well as only a minor amount of interior clouds or stains. It does have a couple of very small open bubbles on both sides of the shoulders and some interior manufactured flaws inside the open mouth area.    Definitely a great addition to your black glass or early blown pontil bottle collection.
