    Description

    Up for your consideration are a pair of  crude Antique pre civil war era BLACK GLASS ale or beer bottles. Each are in excellent original damage free (near mint) condition with absolutely no cracks, chips, or dings anywhere as well as almost no interior clouds or stains.  Both have  hand finished and tooled applied tapered collar mouths with wide lower drippy flared bands. Each are made in a 3 piece turn mold and have a crude deep kickup uneven base with a smooth punched pontil tube rod finish. Both should date in the civil war era or before. First bottle as pictured measures 8.25 in. tall by 3.0 in. in width across the diameter of the base. The other taller bottle measures 9 in. in height and  2 .78 in. across the diameter of the base.
